03-29-11 ZZ TOP: Summer Tour 2008 is already underway, but the best show has yet to come. On 2011-05-26, ZZ TOP will grace Peoria, IL with their first glimpse of the bearded badasses in some time. Their latest album Eliminator (Collector’s Edition) (CD/DVD) hit stores on January eighth of this year. The original Eliminator was released on January first 1983. The blues-rock trio from Houston was formed in Houston almost 40 years ago. Still sporting the same members, the only rock band to do so for three decades, ZZ TOP is excited and ready for their summer tour, especially Peoria. ZZ TOP’s big hits and unknowns alike are sure to be played this 2011-05-26 at the Peoria Civic Center Arena. Billy Young from concertlivewire.com saw ZZ TOP recently and had this to say about the bearded rock veterans. ‘The group’s current tour continues in that lean and mean tradition, focusing on a simple but effective stage setting with two towing stacks of white amplifiers, a logo-drenched percussion ensemble and candy-cane styled microphone stands. ‘ A beautiful picture painted of the ZZ TOP’s stage setup. I am sure that the high energy performance will out do the set up, but it’s always nice to have an idea of what you’re walking into.
